Sivam Metal has been buying scrap since 1999, working out of branches in Madurai and Coimbatore. Most of what we do falls into four services: buying scrap from wherever it sits, selling sorted material on to processors, clearing sites end to end, and running scheduled collections for businesses that generate scrap continuously.

The common thread is that you see the basis of the price. Material is sorted into its actual grades in front of you, weighed on a digital scale you can read, and paid at a rate quoted against those grades — not averaged down to the cheapest thing in the load. For anything larger than a household pickup we walk the site first and quote the job rather than guessing over the phone.

What we will not do is quote a number we cannot stand behind. Our rate board is published live and timestamped, and anything we have not refreshed in 48 hours is marked stale rather than passed off as current — because a rate table nobody maintains is worse than no table at all.

Scrap buying

The core service — collection and purchase from homes, shops, offices, workshops and factories.

Household and residential

Old iron, steel furniture, vessels, appliances, newspaper, cardboard and general household scrap. Free pickup for eligible quantities across both cities.

Shops, offices and institutions

Cardboard and packaging, record room clearances, office furniture, IT equipment and canteen material, on a one-off or scheduled basis.

Workshops and small industry

Fabrication offcuts, machining swarf, rejected production and general shop-floor scrap, usually as a standing collection with bins supplied.

Factories and industrial units

Bulk ferrous and non-ferrous lots, process by-products, plant surplus and full production-line clearances, quoted per consignment.

Site clearance and dismantling

Where the material has to be cut, lifted or carried out before it can be weighed.

Plant and machinery removal

We bring our own gas cutting and lifting team, work to your site safety rules and schedule around production so a running plant is not disrupted.

Warehouse and office clearance

Racking, furniture, fixtures, packaging and accumulated scrap cleared as a single lot, planned backwards from your lease handover date.

Structural and demolition scrap

Sheds, trusses, tanks, conveyors and structural steel cut down and removed, with the area swept and handed back clear.

After-hours and weekend work

For live sites and offices that cannot stop during the week, clearance can run evenings or weekends at no penalty to the quote.

Scheduled collection

For businesses where scrap is a continuous by-product rather than an occasional sale.

Bins supplied and labelled

One bin per material or alloy, placed where the scrap is actually generated, because segregation is only cheap at the source.

Collection on your cycle

Daily, weekly or monthly to match how fast you fill, so material never blocks the floor or overflows into a mixed heap.

Weighed and recorded each visit

Every pickup is weighed and logged, so you can reconcile what left the premises against what you were paid.

Consolidated settlement

Settle per pickup or as a single monthly statement, whichever suits your accounts.

Responsible disposal

E-waste with data destruction

Drives wiped or physically destroyed before disposal, with a written record for your IT asset register, then routed to authorised recyclers.

Batteries and lead

Collected whole and moved only through recyclers authorised under India's battery waste rules. We do not break batteries or sell to informal smelters.

Refrigerant recovery

Fridges and air conditioners are degassed by a technician before dismantling rather than being cut open and vented.

Certified stock destruction

Where branded or defective stock must not re-enter the market, we destroy it on your written instruction and issue a certificate.

Common questions

Do you charge for pickup?
No. For eligible quantities within our service areas, collection is free and the rate you are quoted is what you are paid. For very small lots we will say so honestly and suggest a drop-off at the branch instead.
How quickly can you collect?
Household and small commercial pickups are usually scheduled within a day or two. Site clearances are planned around your handover date, and scheduled business collections run on a fixed cycle you set.
Do you work outside Madurai and Coimbatore?
Our branches serve both cities and the surrounding towns. For bulk industrial lots elsewhere in Tamil Nadu, tell us the tonnage and location and we will confirm whether we can reach you.
Can you handle a clearance where we do not know what is there?
Yes, and that is common. We walk the site, list what is present, flag anything regulated or hazardous, and quote the lot before any work starts.
