Office Paper & Records Scrap

White office paper is the best-paying paper grade, and old record rooms are where most of it sits. Where records are confidential, shredding can be arranged before the paper leaves your premises.

About office paper & records scrap

Sorted white paper — printouts, letterheads, copier paper — recycles into high-quality fibre and is paid clearly above newsprint. Coloured paper, files with plastic covers and carbon-backed forms grade lower, so a record room clearance is worth sorting rather than tipping into one bin.

Confidential disposal is the part most offices care about. We can arrange on-site shredding before collection, and provide a weight-based handover record for your compliance file. Shredded paper is bought at a slightly lower rate than intact sheets because the fibre is shorter, which is a fair trade for the security.

Old ledgers, registers and bound files need the spines, plastic covers and metal clips removed before they enter the paper stream. If the volume is large we handle that stripping ourselves as part of the clearance.

Grades and sub-types

We sort and weigh each grade separately in front of you rather than averaging a mixed load down to its lowest rate.

What decides the rate

Rates move with the market, so we do not publish fixed numbers. These are the factors we assess when quoting office paper & records scrap.

Sorting

Clean white paper is the top grade; mixing coloured stock into it lowers the whole lot.

Bindings

Plastic covers, spiral bindings and metal clips are deducted or stripped.

Shredding

Shredded fibre is shorter and grades a little below intact sheets.

Volume

Record room clearances are quoted as a job, not just a per-kilogram rate.

Get the better grade

  1. Separate white paper from coloured and coated stock — the rate gap is worth the sorting.
  2. Remove plastic files, spiral bindings and box-file clips.
  3. Confirm internally that nothing in the lot is under a retention hold before booking.
  4. Ask for a shredding and handover record if your compliance policy needs one.

Where it ends up

Pulped into new copier and printing paper, tissue and packaging board.
