About cardboard & cartons scrap
Old corrugated containers — OCC in the trade — recycle efficiently and are in constant demand from packaging mills. Value depends almost entirely on handling: flattened, dry, tape-free boxes stack into a dense load; loose wet boxes are mostly air and moisture.
Retail outlets, distributors, e-commerce units and factories generate cardboard continuously, so this usually becomes a scheduled collection rather than a one-off sale. Where volume justifies it we can advise on a baler, which roughly triples what fits on a vehicle and improves the rate accordingly.
Waxed, laminated and food-soiled cartons are not recyclable through the same route. Cold-chain and fruit boxes with a wax coating in particular need to be kept out of the OCC stream.
