About vehicle & automobile scrap

Value is assessed component by component. The body and chassis are ferrous weight; alloy wheels, radiator and wiring harness are non-ferrous and carry disproportionate value; the battery is a separate regulated item; and tyres are usually a cost rather than a credit. Selling a vehicle as one lump of iron gives away the non-ferrous portion, so we itemise.

Paperwork is not optional. We need the registration certificate and proof that you are the owner or authorised to dispose of the vehicle. For a vehicle being taken off the road permanently, deregistration through the proper channel protects you from future liability attached to the registration, and we will point you to it.

Fluids — fuel, engine oil, coolant, brake fluid and refrigerant — must be drained under controlled conditions before dismantling, not on a driveway. That is part of the job we take on, and part of why end-of-life vehicles are quoted per vehicle rather than per kilogram.

We sort and weigh each grade separately in front of you rather than averaging a mixed load down to its lowest rate.

What we cannot take

  • Vehicles without registration papers or documented ownership
  • Vehicles under finance, hypothecation, insurance claim or police hold
  • Accident vehicles pending investigation
  • Vehicles with fuel tanks that cannot be safely drained on site

What decides the rate

Rates move with the market, so we do not publish fixed numbers. These are the factors we assess when quoting vehicle & automobile scrap.

Non-ferrous content

Wheels, radiator and harness carry value well above body steel.

Vehicle completeness

A stripped shell is worth much less than a complete vehicle.

Fluid handling

Draining and disposing of fluids properly is a real cost in the quote.

Documentation

Clean papers are a precondition — no documents, no purchase.

Get the better grade

  1. Have the RC and your ID ready; nothing proceeds without them.
  2. Clear the finance or hypothecation entry before selling.
  3. Remove personal belongings and the FASTag before handover.
  4. Ask about deregistration so the registration cannot be misused later.

Dismantled into steel, aluminium, copper and plastic streams, with fluids and batteries routed to controlled disposal.

What documents do you need for a car?

Yes, once any insurance claim or investigation is closed and the paperwork is clear.
Is it worth removing parts before selling?
